About Pods

We partnered with global arts organizations to host local Seminar experiences. The Pods supported our mission to decentralize the Seminar experience and expand access.

From June 26 to 29, people in Salaya, New Delhi, Warsaw, Porto, Lisbon, Bogotá, Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles gathered daily to watch Seminar programs and participate in discussions with local participants. Find your Pod!

Our partner venues hosted groups of participants for four days of in-depth engagement with Seminar programs. The global Pod schedule included five curated programs spread across four days, with one program per day (two on Saturday). Each Pod screened the same films presented that day in New York City, fostering collective and dynamic Seminar discussions in locally favored languages. Facilitated by local curators, artists, organizers, and discussion leaders, these conversations were enriched by additional materials and prompts provided by the Seminar team. Some Pods complemented Seminar programs with localized film curation.

In addition to in-person screenings and discussions, Pod participants had full access to the Flaherty Online Experience, which included the entire film program, curated readings, and global discussion forums. The Online Experience remained accessible through July 31, allowing registrants to continue engaging with the Seminar’s ideas and conversations beyond the in-person convenings.

A series of smaller-scale, self-organized Gatherings also took place worldwide.

Pod Registration Included
