71st Flaherty Film Seminar Registration
October 8–11, 2026 The Campus at Marlboro Music — Marlboro, Vermont
We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Flaherty Seminar in the mountains of Vermont. The 71st Seminar brings us back to our longtime, single-location retreat format. This year, approximately 88 participants will share meals and watch and discuss films together over four days on an idyllic hilltop campus in Marlboro, VT.

In-Person Registration
We are offering four tiers for in-person registration, including options with on-campus housing and commuter passes for those staying off-site. We ask that you contribute what you can, especially if you benefit from economic stability or have institutional support underwriting your participation. Registration income is essential to sustaining the Flaherty.
All in-person registration tiers include:
Admittance to all screenings, discussions, and artist conversations
All meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner, snacks, and coffee — Starting with dinner on Thursday, October 8 through breakfast on Sunday, October 11 — catered by the Brattleboro Food Co-op
Full access to the films through the Online Experience during and following the seminar.
The registration fee does NOT include travel to and from Vermont.
Spots are limited across all tiers. We encourage you to register as soon as possible. Once a tier is full, you may join a waitlist and will be contacted if a spot opens up.

ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
Housing will be provided for participants with an on-campus accommodation pass.
Pay-It-Forward/Institutional Registration — $2,000
Limited availability
This tier includes complete access to all seminar activities and sessions, includes on-campus housing and all meals, as well as the Online Experience.
This registration tier is ideal for participants whose attendance is funded by their institution or organization, or for established professionals who wish to support our commitment to accessibility and a more sustainable seminar model. By registering at this level, you're helping us maintain our inclusive pricing model while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the seminar.

Standard Registration — $1,500
Limited availability
This tier includes complete access to all seminar activities and sessions, includes on-campus housing and all meals, as well as the Online Experience.
Our standard registration is for participants who will be staying on campus for the duration of the Seminar. Our standard registration fee helps cover the operational costs of the seminar. Your participation at this level directly contributes to the sustainability of our programming and community-building efforts.

OFF CAMPUS/COMMUTER
Off-campus/Commuter pass holders are responsible for booking their own off-site accommodations.
IMPORTANT: October is prime fall foliage season in Vermont, and accommodations book up well ahead of time for this popular time of year. Participants who select either option below are strongly advised to book their accommodations well in advance.
Commuter: Pay-It-Forward/Institutional Registration — $1,500
Limited availability
The commuter tier includes complete access to all seminar activities and sessions, includes all meals, as well as the Online Experience. The commuter tier does not include housing on campus. Participants registering as Commuters are responsible for arranging their own accommodations off campus, as well as transportation to and from campus each day.
This registration tier is ideal for participants who would prefer to stay off campus and whose attendance is funded by their institution or organization, or for established professionals who wish to support our commitment to accessibility and a more sustainable seminar model. By registering at this level, you're helping us maintain our inclusive pricing model while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the seminar.

Commuter: Standard Registration — $1,000

The commuter tier includes complete access to all seminar activities and sessions, includes all meals, as well as the Online Experience. The commuter tier does not include housing on campus. Participants registering as Commuters are responsible for arranging their own accommodations off campus, as well as transportation to and from campus each day.

Online Experience Registration
We are offering two tiers for online registration. We ask that you contribute what you can, especially if you benefit from economic stability or have institutional support underwriting your participation. Registration income is essential to sustaining the Flaherty.
The Online Experience includes:
Access to all 2026 Seminar films on the online platform (subject to regional availability)
Curated readings, resources, and discussion prompts
Available through the end of October 2026
Institutional / Pay-It-Forward Online Registration — $100
Full access to the Online Experience. This tier is for participants with institutional support or for anyone who wishes to help subsidize online experience access for others.
Standard Online Registration — $50
Full access to the Online Experience.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests received by August 1, 2026 will be refunded minus a 20% processing fee. After August 1, no refunds will be issued. If the Flaherty is required to cancel the in-person Seminar due to circumstances beyond our control, all in-person registrants will receive full access to the Online Experience and a reimbursement minus a 20% processing and handling fee.
