The Flaherty Film Seminar Returns to Vermont
This October, The Flaherty is returning home to Vermont, back to the very hills where it all started seven decades ago. Founded by Frances Flaherty in 1954, The Flaherty began as a small gathering of filmmakers and friends at the Flaherty Farm in Dummerston, Vermont, just a few miles from The Campus at Marlboro Music. Seventy-one years later, we are returning to where it all started.
The 71st Flaherty Film Seminar will take place from October 8 to 11, 2026, at The Campus at Marlboro Music in Marlboro, Vermont.
The 71st Seminar will reflect the urgent moment we are living in and cinema's enduring role as a catalyst for inquiry, connection, and change. Since its origins during the height of McCarthyism, The Flaherty has been a gathering place for artists and thinkers to spark wonder, critique, and hope. This legacy guides our vision for 2026.
